About the Company

40eleven is a website design firm specializing in small to medium sized businesses looking to either establish an initial web presence or to re-establish their company website with a more professional image. We also work with individuals and non-profit organizations who need a hand getting started with their online presence.

While 40eleven.com mainly specializes in electronic display, we also provide consultation in the realm of print media -- whether logos, letterhead, or your company brochure we can not only help you with your design but show you how to carry out your design theme or brand through both web and print mediums.

40eleven also offers training for individuals interested in learning how to maintain their own website, resize and crop images or just need help with email.

Why 40eleven?

The phrase "40 eleven" is typically a saying that originated in the old South and means "more than can be counted" -- i.e. "I have 40 eleven things to do." etc. At 40 eleven we embrace the Southern traditions of going the extra mile for customer satisfaction by working above and beyond client expectations. At the same time we have designed and implemented 40 eleven websites and we have satisfied the web design needs of 40 eleven clients.

About our Founders

40eleven.com was founded by Rebekah Hughes, whose web experience began shortly after Al Gore invented the internet (that's a joke, folks). While her James Madison University studies taught her the essentials of graphic design and layout for print media, and gave her a degree in Journalism, this ultimately led to her delving into web design. She developed her first website while employed as the Communications Director for the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Five years later she revamped the Chamber's website while employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Electronic Commerce Center. Rebekah worked several years as a freelance independant contractor until she decided to start her own business.

40eleven was co-founded by Rebekah's husband Jake Hughes whose technical expertise goes all the way back to his years at the Virginia Military Institute where he served as a computer technician for the Corps. After graduating he served as the webmaster for Northrop Grumman Newport News. Today he continues to freelance as a website designer, photographer and computer technician while working full-time as a project manager for Turzac Construction Corporation.
